- Perched high atop the oceanfront bluffs in San Pedro, California, an outdated, 2,200-square foot home is being transformed into a spacious, 3,300 square-foot home that promises to set a new standard for eco-friendly construction
- Traditional wood-frame plans were more than 75% complete when the owners realized the opportunity and advantages of building with ICF. Plans were converted, engineered and in planning department in 21/2 weeks! 23 Casons required 15-25 feet down.
- By incorporating ICF technology, the San Pedro home will require 30% to 50% less energy to heat and cool
- The home also features superior sound insulation and is wind, fire, insect and rodent resistant
- 70% of all demolition material was recycled for re-use
- Drought-tolerant gardens
- Energy-efficient windows and appliances
- Solar energy panels for home and pool
- Numerous eco-friendly building practices are making this a showcase home for sustainable building
